Quico Canseco for Congress Campaign

Releases Radio Message on Illegal Immigration

San Antonio, Texas — This week, the Quico Canseco for Congress campaign unveiled its new sixty second radio ad on immigration and border security which is now being aired on radio stations across South Texas.  The radio message is intended to help voters learn more about Canseco’s firm stance against illegal immigration. This latest radio message is a continuation of an ongoing media campaign to help conservatives win back the 23rd Congressional District of Texas from Democrat incumbent Ciro Rodriguez.

Quico Canseco is once again featured in this latest radio ad; this time talking about the ill effects of illegal immigration and the need for increased border security.

“I was born and raised in South Texas, along our vast southern border. These issues are near and dear to me. Patriotism, national security and a respect for the rule of law are some of the primary reasons why I am a Republican. My activism on this issue is just an extension of these principles,” explained Canseco.

Recently, conservatives across the country rose up in opposition to an immigration bill that would have offered de facto amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. While that bill now appears to be dead in the Senate, supporters have stated they will not abandon the issue and plans for new legislation are already being drawn up.

“For those who respect the rule of law and our nation’s proud heritage of legal immigration, we must continue to be vigilant against efforts that will weaken our borders and grant effective amnesty to over twelve million immigrants who have chosen to enter our country illegally, “ Canseco said.

Canseco said that the Ciro Rodriguez, the incumbent Democrat currently representing Texas’ 23rd Congressional District is simply out-of- touch with the values of South Texas, particularly on the issue of immigration. Canseco pointed to the grade of F minus awarded to Mr. Rodriguez by Americans for Better Immigration for his failed record of leadership on immigration and border security issues.

“With so much at stake voters need to send to Congress a representative who has credibility on this important issue and who can effectively advocate for the interests of South Texans  We cannot keep abdicating our responsibility to secure our border and deal forcefully with our growing population of illegal immigrants.  This newest radio message is a continuation of my campaign to let voters know that I am prepared to return true Texas values to Congress and say NO to amnesty for those who have entered the United States illegally,” Canseco concluded.
