San Antonio, Texas— Quico Canseco will officially kick-off his campaign for United States Congress on Monday, May 21st at the Omni Hotel located off of I-10 on San Antonio’s north side. The event will begin at 6:30pm. Canseco is seeking the Republican Party nomination to challenge Democrat incumbent Ciro Rodriguez.

“Months of work and hundreds of hours of volunteer time have gone in to getting us to this point,” said Canseco.  “I want to use this opportunity to explain to the voters of South and West Texas why I am running and also thank the people who have gotten me here.”

“In December of 2006, a liberal democrat won the 23rd Congressional District. Almost immediately I began working to take this district back for conservatives. Republican leaders here in Texas and in our nation’s capitol believe that the race for the 23rd District will be one of the most important in the nation. My announcement on Monday is the next logical step in our effort to take back this District,” Canseco concluded.
